The straddling type of vehicle is provided that a nearly horizontal surface portion ( 31 b) is formed on the bottom of the fuel tank ( 30 ) and the fuel pump ( 42 ) is placed on the nearly horizontal surface portion ( 31 b) with the pump axis (A) directed nearly in the horizontal direction.
