Zusammenfassung:Systems, methods, and software applications for managing the playing of ring tones and other media files on mobile devices are provided. In one embodiment, a software application executed by a processor of a mobile device tracks the playing of a media file on the mobile device and reports information regarding the playing of the media file from the mobile device to a server over a wireless network. In another embodiment, the media file is provided on the mobile device as a ring tone file.
