Synthesis of Fluorinated Ethers

A process for preparing fluorinated ethers, such as desflurane, comprises reacting the corresponding chlorinated ether, such as isoflurane, with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride in the vapor phase in the presence of chromia catalyst.
