Zusammenfassung:A method for producing a hydrogen product from a starting material containing glycerin as well as a device for conducting the method is disclosed. An intermediate product containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide is produced from the starting material containing glycerin by the separation of undesired substances and at least the pyrolysis of the glycerin, which intermediate product subsequently undergoes a hydrogen separation, where the intermediate product is not treated by reforming before hydrogen separation.
