Zusammenfassung:	A method of converting a mode of a user interface in a mobile terminal. The method of converting a mode of a user interface of a mobile terminal having a 4-way navigation key includes determining whether a corner direction press signal of the 4-way navigation key is input in a 4-way navigation key mode; and converting the 4-way navigation key mode to an 8-way pointer mode when a corner direction press signal of the 4-way navigation key is input in a 4-way navigation key mode. Therefore, in a user interface of a mobile terminal, both a 4-way navigation key mode and an 8-way pointer mode can be used, and mode conversion can be simply performed.
