Zusammenfassung:	Aqueous, storage-stable emulsions of alpha-silyl terminated polymers are useful as adhesives, sealing compounds and coating materials. The alpha-silyl terminated polymers correspond to the general formula (I): in which R1 is a linear or branched alkyl or alkoxy group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R2 and R3 independently of one another are linear or branched alkyl groups containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R4 and R6 independently of one another are divalent organic connecting groups, R5 is a hydrophobic divalent polymer group; and R7 is a CH2SiR1(OR2)(OR3) group, in which R1, R2 and R3 have the above meaning or R7 stands for a group that lends the polymer of the general formula (I) the property of self-emulsification in water by forming an oil in water emulsion.
