Zusammenfassung:	A catheter insertion device is provided in which a needle cannula thereof has one or more markers to provide a visual and/or tactile indication to a user that the needle cannula has been withdrawn from a position in which the sharp tip thereof is exposed beyond the catheter tube to a position wherein a part of the cannula needle shaft and the tip are within a proximal portion of the catheter tube so as to impede fluid leakage through the tube, but removed from a distal portion of the tube to free it to flex.
