Zusammenfassung:A drawing method is indicated for producing an optical component of quartz glass, which aims at shortening the pulling process and minimizing the loss of material. To this end the following methods steps are suggested according to the invention: a) a end face of a hollow cylinder of quartz glass is connected with formation of a tapered end portion to an attachment piece of quartz glass having a bore, in such a manner that the inner bore of the hollow cylinder and the bore of the attachment piece are at least temporarily interconnected fluidically with formation of a passage bore, b) a cleaning fluid is passed through the inner bore of the hollow cylinder and through the passage bore, c) a core rod of quartz glass which rests on a contact surface of the attachment piece is inserted into the inner bore of the hollow cylinder, and d) the hollow cylinder is continuously supplied, starting with the tapered end portion, to a heating zone, heated therein zonewise with formation of a drawing bulb and the component is continuously drawn therefrom.
