This disclosure includes methods and compositions for evaluating genetic variances, e.g., within this locus, and for the association of these variances with AD. The disclosure also includes methods and compositions for modulating SIRT1 expression and/or activity. These methods and compositions can be used in the prevention or treatment of AD.
