The catalyst portion can comprise a metallic substrate, an aluminide layer disposed on at least a portion of the metallic substrate, and a catalyst material disposed on the aluminide. The catalyst material can be selected from the group consisting of platinum, palladium, ruthenium, rhodium, and combinations comprising at least one of the foregoing catalyst materials.
