In accordance with the invention, the bulb ( 5 ) is equipped with a coating ( 8 ) that reflects middle infrared radiation and is transparent to near infrared radiation. The output efficiency of the lamp ( 1 ) is thereby increased, in particular in the near infrared spectral range.
