The present invention achieves this objective by utilizing a commercially available computer spreadsheet application as a platform for enabling an end user to tailor spreadsheets to his particular work environment in terms of production resources, raw material resources, and also his business intelligence. Suitable commercially available computer spreadsheet applications include Microsoft XL, Corel Quattro-Pro, Lotus 1-2-3, and the like.
