Zusammenfassung:	A system and method for downloading information from a content server to a mobile device in communication with a wireless communication network. The mobile device is assigned a network address and registers with the content server by providing the network address as an identification information. The content server establishes a communication channel to the mobile device by opening a socket to the network address and downloads the information to the mobile device through the communication channel. If the content server cannot open a communication channel to the network address, the content server sends a message to the mobile device.
