Zusammenfassung:A turbo decoder is used in a method for blockwise decoding a data signal that is error protection coded at a transmitter and that is detected in a receiver. The turbo decoder includes two feedback symbol estimators. In order to calculate its output values, at least one of the symbol estimators executes, with reference to a data block being considered, a plurality of forward and/or backward recursions over subintervals of the data block.
