| Zusammenfassung: | The present invention is an asset identification and information retrieval system for industrial facility components composed of a computer identifier and at least one transponder tag. The transponder tags emit a radio identifier signal in response to a scanning signal sent by the computer identifier. The computer identifier is portable, battery operated and has visual displays for confirming readouts as well as a database to store multiple tag information. The system also has the capability to remotely access databases regarding tagged components, such that a field employee utilizing the computer identifier can communicate with the centralized control system to receive, amend or record records and other information regarding any particular tagged asset. |
