Zusammenfassung:	The present invention provides a printer system that performs a printing operation on recording sheets of various types. In accordance with the present invention, the image of a recording sheet on which recording sheet identification information for identifying the type of the recording sheet and data identification information for identifying the type of print data is printed in advance is picked up by an image pick-up device. From the picked up image, the recording sheet identification information and the data identification information are extracted and then compared so as to detect inconsistency between the type of the recording sheet and the type of the data. By this printing system, a data printing operation can be performed on desired recording sheets.
