This recognition device is capable of making remote data exchanges with an identification device (17) worn or carried by a user to enable access to the vehicle when the recognition device has authenticated the identification device. The recognition device is connected to at least one antenna (2, 3, 4, 5) located in a passenger grab handle (6, 8, 10, 12) inside the vehicle.
