Brassieres; corsets and corset substitutes.-A brassiere comprises overlapping sections 10, 11, Fig. 4, which are supported by shoulder straps 20, 21 connected at 22, 23 to the ends and also connected at 28 - - 31 to the upper parts of the breast supports by straps which have a sliding connection at 24. This may take the form shown in Fig. 3, or may be a loop connected to the top of the support at 28, 29, the shoulder straps passing freely through these loops to the other support. In one modification, the brassiere forms the upper part of a corset-like garment. In another modification, pockets are provided for breast pads. The brassiere may have one of its sections slotted for the passage therethrough of the other section.
