Locking nuts.-A spring washer of the split ring type extending over more than 360 has the opposed end faces formed with corresponding projectioning and recessed portions, so that the smallest distance between the end faces is less than the smallest dimension of the cross-section of the washer. Fig. 3 shows the two end faces, which may be cut at an angle, formed with projecting parts 3 which nest with the recessed portions 4 when the washer is compressed. In Fig. 14 one angularly cut end face 6 is formed with a projection 15 and the other parallel end face 5 with a recess 16. |
