Zusammenfassung: | 115,018. Spahlinger, H. April 18, 1917, [Convention date]. Platen presses.-Apparatus for obtaining bloodserum comprises a receiver a fitted with a cover b through which passes a rod k carrying a perforated plate formed with teeth or blades m and adapted to be pressed on the clot of blood after coagulation to separate the serum which passes up through the perforations and may be removed by a pipette inserted through an aperture in the cover b. Blood drawn by means of a trocar is introduced into the receiver through a curved tube f which delivers it close to the side of the vessel so as to prevent frothing and is formed with an overhanging part g to prevent the entrance of germs from the atmosphere. The rod k may be held in position by a screw d and is fitted with a platform s on which weights may be placed. A rubber tube r is connected to the flange o on the rod k and to the guide c on the cover b and, together with cotton-wool plugs in the various openings, ensures sterility of operation. |
