Zusammenfassung:	Herein provided is a new corn variety designated '166-048' as well as the seeds, plants, plant parts, and derivatives of the new corn variety '166-048'. Also provided are tissue cultures of the new corn variety '166-048' and the plants regenerated therefrom. Methods for producing corn plants by crossing the new corn variety '166-048' with itself or another corn variety and plants produced by such methods are also provided. Hybrids of '166-048' exhibit higher yields and lower harvest moistures than comparable hybrids, and '166-048' has broad general combining ability with Iowa Stiff Stalk Synthetic (BSSS) inbreds.
