Zusammenfassung:	A method and a system for making an orthodontic appliance are provided, the method comprises: obtaining a 3D digital model comprising a plurality of vertices representative of surfaces of upper and lower teeth of a subject in a current occlusion therebetween; obtaining an indication of a desired occlusion between the upper and lower arch forms; determining, based on the desired occlusion, a shift value between the current occlusion and the desired occlusion; generating, based on the desired occlusion, an outer surface of the appliance 3D digital model corresponds to the respective occlusal surface portion of the given one of the upper and lower teeth having been repositioned towards the desired occlusion by the shift value.
