The alarm assembly includes a speaker and a sensor. The sensor is configured to detect a pet, a person or an object under the footrest. The speaker emits an audible alarm when the sensor detects an object under the footrest to prevent a user sat in the recliner chair from closing the footrest, thereby preventing the pet, or the person under the foot rest from getting hurt.
