Zusammenfassung:	A system and method for fresh bovine hide splitting includes a hide splitting machine configured to split a fresh bovine hide into a top grain and a collagen sheet. The top grain may be used for leather products. The collagen sheet may be processed with at least one of a maceration process or a drying process to produce a fresh bovine hide raw material product without the addition of a liming or bluing process. The fresh bovine hide raw material product may not include residues remaining following a liming process or bluing process. The fresh bovine hide raw material product may be usable in downstream products for human consumption including gelatin.
