Zusammenfassung:	A massage chair and a method of operating a massage chair, in which operations are controlled by executing artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms and/or machine learning algorithms in a 5G environment connected for Internet-of-Things. The method of operating a massage chair includes obtaining, from a user terminal, first information corresponding to geographic information generated by the user terminal, obtaining, from the user terminal, second information corresponding to motion information generated by the user terminal, obtaining, from the user terminal, third information corresponding to usage information of the user terminal, generating fourth information as additional information using one or more among the first information, the second information, and the third information, and determining an optimal driving mode with respect to a user of user terminal by using the first information to the fourth information.
