Zusammenfassung:An ophthalmic formulation comprising transethosomes is provided. The transethosomes include a phospholipid, an edge activator, ethanol, and ketoconazole, wherein a surface of the transethosome is modified with a cationic charge inducing agent. The transethosomes may be incorporated into in situ gelling or hydrogel compositions. The formulations are useful for the sustained delivery of ketoconazole to the posterior eye segment of a subject.
