Zusammenfassung:	Low power light therapy device for treating the eye, comprising a light source emitting monochromatic or quasi monochromatic light in a wavelength range between 600-700 nm and/or 780-950 nm, and the device comprises a beam expander (2) positioned in the path of the light emitted from the light source and at least one light scattering element (3) arranged past the beam expander (2) and the light intensity at the site of the treatment is smaller than 1 mW/cm2, which is substantially smaller than the output intensity of the light source.
