Zusammenfassung:	A method of making a triarylmethane leuco compound comprises reacting an aromatic aldehyde compound, a first oxyalkylenated aryl compound, and a second oxyalkylenated aryl compound in a condensation reaction in the presence of an acidic catalyst to produce the triarylmethane leuco compound. The first oxyalkylenated aryl compound is oxyalkylenated with ethylene oxide. The second oxyalkylenated aryl compound is oxyalkylenated with propylene oxide or with both ethylene oxide and propylene oxide.
