Method of controlling a residential gateway from a communication network, method of supervision, method of executing an action, corresponding devices and computer program

The invention relates to a process of restarting a residential gateway connected on one end to an extended communication network and, on the other end, to a local network, in which the gateway carries out the following steps: - receipt of a first action message comprising at least one order to turn off the gateway, this action message being generated by an implementing entity of the extended communication network and transmitted on the level of the data link layer, - storage of a configuration context of the local network associated with the gateway, - shutting down of the gateway, and - restarting of the gateway according to the previously stored configuration context.
