Zusammenfassung:	The disclosure relates to a method for assisting a driver of a motor vehicle in which a target value for a future acceleration of the motor vehicle and an actual value for an instantaneous acceleration of the motor vehicle are determined, wherein the target value and the actual value are compared and displayed for the driver on a display panel, wherein the driver is informed whether he should increase or decrease acceleration by actuating a gas pedal of the motor vehicle.
