The information processing apparatus obtains a display language of the screen and obtains a language of the pointing tool, and in a case where the display language differs from the language, displays, on the display unit, a confirmation screen for confirming with a user whether to execute the function corresponding to the pointing tool in response to an instruction given by the user via the pointing tool.
