The device includes a sensor configured to detect movement of the device in a standby mode of the device; a storage configured to store motion information based on information related to the movement and at least one piece of function information corresponding to the motion information; and a processor configured to control the device to perform a function corresponding to the motion information in the standby mode based on the information related to the movement, the motion information, and the at least one piece of function information.
