Zusammenfassung:	An imaging apparatus detects a shake, calculates a blurring amount of a subject image on the basis of a result of the detection, calculates a correction amount for canceling blurring of the subject image on the basis of the blurring amount, subtracts a subtraction amount per one correction cycle based on the subtraction amount per predetermined period of time from the blurring amount or the correction amount, shifts a part of the optical system in a direction to cancel blurring of a subject image on the basis of any one of a result of the subtraction and the subtraction amount per one correction cycle, and shifts the image pickup element in a direction to cancel blurring of the subject image on the basis of another of the result of the subtraction and the subtraction amount per one correction cycle.
