Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a longitudinal beam for a motor vehicle, having a body, of hollow cross section and extending in the longitudinal direction, with a front connection for a cross-member and a rear connection to a motor vehicle body, said longitudinal beam being characterized in that the longitudinal beam is produced from a multi-layer steel having a homogeneous wall thickness as a hot-formed and press-hardened component and has at least one reinforcement patch, wherein the multi-layer steel has a central layer and at least one outer layer made of a ferritic stainless steel alloy.
