Zusammenfassung:	A method for synchronizing a mobile device with a message mailbox is described. The method includes: sending a request to the server to identify an initial subset of most recently received messages from among a plurality of messages for synchronization; retrieving the initial subset of messages from the server; and retrieving, from the server, messages belonging to a conversation that includes at least one of the messages in the initial subset, prior to retrieving more recently received messages that do not belong to any conversation that includes at least one of the messages in the initial subset.
