Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to metallurgy, namely to the construction of a bottom electrode of a furnace. The bottom electrode of the furnace comprises a cylindric copper cooled bar with of cooling ducts and current feedthrough, a steel head with a cavity, the internal lateral surface of which is hardly fastened with a copper bar, part of which is located inside of the steel head, and the other part - out of the furnace and current feedthroughs being installed on it. The steel head and copper cooled bar are made in the form of cylinders, a correspondent ratio of outer diameters: D/Dfrom 1,1 to 1,2, connected by screw made on inside lateral surface of cavity of steal head low part and an outer lateral surface of a copper bar part located in the cavity of steel head low part length of which Lp is determined by the ratio:(85,2+0,1653·D-0,0002·D)
