Zusammenfassung:A method relates to ferrous metallurgy, in particular to the out-of-furnace treatment of cast iron with magnesium. A method includes supplying of magnesium into the melt of cast iron in the form of powder wire, at that magnesium is introduced in the form of magnesium, which is mixed with exothermal mixture, which reduces magnesium and consists of aluminium powders and iron oxides, at that in the obtained filling material of powder wire, which contains magnesium oxide, aluminium powder and iron oxides, ratios of components are in the range of 1:(2-5):(5-12). Use of the proposed method allows toprovide stably high level of desulphurization of cast iron, and also to reduce the cost of powder wire.
