Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to the field of preparing synthetic ultradisperse powders of superhard materials, which can be used in different fields of industry. A method for preparing powder of synthetic ultradisperse diamond comprises impact of electric current pulses of duration to 50 mus on material containing carbon in the form of graphite included in the electric insulating medium. According to the invention, pulses act on material with a specific energy between 100 and 300 kJ per 1 gram of graphite, at that as electric insulation medium the distilled water is used. The invention allows to increase diamond phase yield in the powder.
