Zusammenfassung:The method for controlling the prosthesis design relates to the medical devices, in particular to the biomechanics and may be applicable for prosthetics and prosthetic industry, namely for making the prosthesis of the lower limbs. For realizing the method, the disabled person with hip or shin prosthesis is placed onto the strain-measuring platform. The signals from the strain gauges are transmitted to the information processing system. The individual contours of the feet, including the foot of the limb with the prosthesis, are displayed in the monitor. The foot image is then analyzed with the aid of the specialized software. The image is divided into three equal areas: frontal, middle, and posterior ones. The transverse line dividing the area in half is then plotted. The operator assesses the position for the foot projection of the base line for the load of the limb for which the prosthetic appliance is designed. When this projection point falls at the frontal or posterior areas of the foot or the margins of the lateral contours, the significant deviations in the pattern of the prosthesis design is suggested. The method provides for the prompt control of the prosthesis design directly in the patient to whom this prosthesis is applied. Such a method will be advantageous for improving the quality of prosthesis making allowing for the detection both overt and concealed defects of the prosthesis as early as in the stage of its manufacture. As a result, the social and labor rehabilitation of the disabled persons is improved.
