Zusammenfassung:The proposed joint for electrodes of an arc furnace consists of several sections. Each section has a threaded receptacle, into which a connecting rod with an axial hole is screwed. In the receptacle, a cone-shaped cavity is provided. The hole of the connecting rod and the cavity of the receptacle are filled with mix of carbon-containing materials. The content of the mix components, in percent by mass, is as follows: Hard-coal coke 58...60 % Casting coke 35...37 % Synthetic graphite 4...6 % The proposed joint provides the possibility to reduce the consumption of electrodes when melting metal in an arc furnace.
