TECHNIQUE FOR SPLINTING

The technique for splinting comprises preparing the teeth to be splinted, connecting the teeth with the tie, and closing the defects with the filling material. The grooves on the vestibular and oral surfaces are prepared and interconnected. The contact points are prepared with the resulting circular grooves. Then the teeth are tied with the band or the bundle in the shape of figure eight starting from the last tooth in the splint. The bands or the bundles are tied up on the second tooth from the end. The tied bands or bundles are stretched. Upon photopolymerization, the knot is cut off. The whole structure is reinforced by the oral band. Finally, the teeth are restored.
