METHOD FOR DETERMINING PLANE COORDINATES OF POINTS AT THE EARTH SURFACE

The proposed method for determining plane coordinates of points at the earth surface consists in carrying out field reconnaissance of the area, designating the points of the geodetic network on the area, determining the optimal scheme of geodetic measurements that provides a maximal body of information, determining the measurement procedures according to the said optimal scheme, installing the receivers of the Global Positioning System (GPS) at the points of the geodetic network, carrying out measurements, and determining the point coordinates from the measurement data. The antennas of the GPS receivers are uniformly spaced on a circle, with a small distance from each other. One of the antennas is defined as a reference antenna. In the measurement process, the linear displacement and the angular displacement of the phase center of each antenna relative to the reference antenna are determined, and the said parameters are used to determine the point coordinates.
