UNIT TO SEPARATE MAIZE EARS

A unit to separate maize ears contains an ear-separating smooth roller and a stem-stretching roller on one of the sides, above which an immovable plate and a conveyer, which draws away the ears, are correspondingly arranged. The stem-stretching roller is provided with knife ribs with sharp cutting edges and is arranged under an immovable plate with a minimum gap between the cutting edges and cylindrical surface of the smooth roller. In the second variant of the embodiment the unit additionally contains the stem-stretching roller which is placed under the smooth roller. In doing so the both stem-stretching rollers are provided with the knife ribs with the sharp cutting edges in such a manner that, while stretching, the edges of the ribs of the both stem-stretching rollers are arranged correspondingly one opposite the other with a minimum gap between them in the radial direction.
