Protector for drill pipes has a hollow housing, a placed in coaxial direction at cylindrical rod of the housing ring, support elements, those are placed between the housing and the ring. In the inner cavity of the half-muff of the housing there is placed a shutoff element with equal-path opening, this comprises a placed between the upper and the lower saddles spherical gate, it is closed and opened by a rotary pin installed in the half-muff in radial position.
