METHOD FOR IMPROVING SEPARATION OF SEED ACCORDING TO GRAIN COLOUR

A method for improving separation of seed according to grain colour wherein grain mix is fed from a hopper to belt conveyer, then grains are fed one by one to optical disk where photoelectric devices reacting to grains with dark surface are located, those by means of amplifier transmit electric impulse of high voltage to electrode located in optical disk, as a result grains obtain from electrode positive electric charge. Grains fall between two plates-electrodes and get in different chambers depending on colour. Seed sample is selected previously, lightened by source of light, image of seed sample through photographic objective is received by colour TV camera from which information on seed sample is received by PC analysing this information and making calculations of voltage value for electrode in optical disk and for deflecting plates-electrodes to separate seed into several fractions depend on number of grain colour gradations (number of fractions). Calculated parameter values in the form of numerical codes from PC output are sent to digital-to-analogue converters converting them into analogue quantities. This information is received by operating mechanism to set on separator corresponding values of these parameters.
