Zusammenfassung: | The proposed explosion-proof starter lead-acid battery contains a casing with compartments for accumulator elements, a cover, a central gas-removing passage, and two clips. The casing cover contains openings for filling the casing compartments with electrolyte. These openings are closed by plugs with ventilation holes. At the inside surface of the cover, cylindrical projections are provided, which are arranged axially with the filling plugs. Between the cover and each casing compartment, a spacer is installed, which is made of the same material as the cover. Each spacer contains a central cylindrical opening, which diameter is equal to the diameter of the cylindrical projection of the cover, and a number of conical openings, which are arranged along the cover edges, so that the base of the opening cone is on the side of the cover. The longitudinal axes of the conical openings are arranged differently relative to a vertical plane. The ratio between the diameters of the conical opening is 2.1 ... 2.5, the ratio between the thickness of the spacer and the lesser diameter of the opening is 1.5 ... 1.7, and the total area of the middle cross-sections of the openings is 0.6 ... 0.7 of the spacer area. Each spacer is fitted to the cover so that the spacer surface is at a level of no less than 2/3 of the cover height. The spacer encloses the cylindrical projection of the cover along the section which length is no less than half of the cover height. The central U-shaped gas-removing passage is arranged so that the corresponding axes of the passage are parallel and perpendicular to the axes of the filling plugs. The outlet openings of the passage are arranged oppositely to the battery clips. The diameter of each outlet opening is no more than half of the passage diameter. |
