Zusammenfassung:	A method for patching the converter lining for melting steel involves application of powdered refractory material on the lining during the melting above the metal level. After discharge of metal and partial discharge of slag the rest of liquid slag is applied in gas jets at a rate of not less than 300 m/s on the lining below the conditional level of metal and along the slag belt, then solid metal charge is loaded and cast iron is poured.
