Zusammenfassung:	The technique for treating wide and multiple hernias of abdominal wall comprises the separation of the hernial sacs and the disengagement of the adhesions between the hernial walls and the hernial content. For strengthening the week points in the abdominal wall below the navel, the meshed polypropylene insert is used. N-shaped prosthesis strengthens additionally the supraumbilical area. The prosthesis is placed between the rectus muscles of abdomen and the posterior layer of the sheath of the respective muscles and fixed to the muscular-aponeurotic layer throughout the perimeter. The prosthesis is sewed to the inguinal ligaments, the pubic tubercles of the pubic bone and anterior superior iliac spines.
