A METHOD OF TRANSPORTATION AND CLEANING OF ROOT AND TUBEROUS CROPS AND A DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION

The invention relates to the mechanization of agricultural production, in particular to methods used in the transportation of root and tuberous crops and providing simultaneous cleaning of soil impurities and plant residues. The method of transportation and cleaning of root and tuberous crops includes the operations of transporting a heap of root and tuberous crops, their interaction with the cleaning working body and unloading. The parts of the heap and the bodies of root and tuberous crops are provided with an additional operation of forcing the bodies of root and tuberous crops during their cleaning from adhering soil while simultaneously providing separate cleaning forces of different intensity from three sides using a drive crank with a small-diameter drive brush with short elastic rods mounted at its end. The device for implementing the method includes a main frame, a feed conveyor, above the outlet end of which, with an appropriate gap, a cleaning working body and an unloading conveyor are installed. Coaxially with the cleaning working body, made in the form of a driven bar cleaning brush with long elastic rods, a drive crank is installed, at the end of which there is a small-diameter drive brush with short elastic rods. At the same time, the directions of rotational movements of the driven bar cleaning brush with long elastic rods, the drive crank and the small-diameter driven brush with short elastic rods coincide, and the angular velocities of the rotational movements of the driven bar cleaning brush with long elastic rods, the drive crank and the small-diameter driven brush with short elastic rods are different. The use of the method for transporting and cleaning root and tuberous vegetables and the device for its implementation will increase the efficiency of cleaning root and tuberous vegetables from impurities.
