Zusammenfassung:The proposed method for determining the risk of the development and progressing of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in patients with the first stage of the disease and persons that are active smokers but without the violation of the external respiration function, i.e. persons that have the forced expiration indicator within the first second of time no less than 80 % of the normal indicator, consists in determining the indicators that characterize the endothelium function, such as the content of endothelin 1 (E1) and the total content of stable metabolites NO-(NO2+NO3) in the patient's blood plasma, and calculating the test indicator (K) that characterizes the violation of the endothelium function by the following equation: K = NO-(NO2+NO3)/E1. If indicator K is less than 5.7, the endothelium does not adapt to injurious factors, including hypoxia, and the development and progressing of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in patients with the first stage of the disease and active smokers are predicted.
